In der Vergangenheit hatte sich EA ja gegen Remaster für deren ältere Titel ausgesprochen. In einem Interview mit Gameinformer auf der Gamescom kam aber nun eine Wende zu Tage. EA Studios Executive Vice President Patrick Soderlund antwortete auf die Frage hin, ob sich EAs Meinung zu Remasters und eine Mass Effect Collection geändert habe, folgendermaßen.
What’s changed is that there is proof in the market that people want it, maybe more than there was when we spoke. There were some that did it before, but I think there is even more clear evidence that this is something that people really want. The honest answer is that we are absolutely actively looking at it. I can’t announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully.
Damit scheinen Remasters nun in greifbare Nähe zu rücken. Gameplay zu Mass Effect Andromeda soll laut Soderlund zudem in der „nicht zu fernen Zukunft“ gezeigt werden und er habe bereits die ersten drei Stunden gespielt.
